More Barbie Crochet Couture

gold-barbie-1I have been on a roll with the Barbie crochet clothes.  All of them are one of a kind and one without a pattern just fit and adjust as I go and let the ideas roll.  Here are a couple more of my designs for your enjoyment.

First is a sparkly gold evening dress using Aunt Lydia’s metallic gold #10 thread and gold and bronze glass beads.  As accessories there is a hat, necklace, and bracelet.  The hat started as a large button that I crocheted around and added clear stretch thread to hold it on and some beads for extra sparkle.

blue-egypt-barbie-1Next is a steel blue dress with a beaded neckline and hem.  It started with the circular beaded neck piece and kind of grew from there.  For accessories I made a fascinator on a headband with blue buttons and blue pearl glass beads.   The beadwork is all crocheted in place and looks really nice if you blow up the image.

  1. The hat on the first doll is lovely! I also adore the stitching on the blue dress. It is very pretty. Both are awesome! You make very impressive outfits, especially with the bead work.

The bead work is ticky since you have to load all the beads on before you start. I am considering on beaded all over now that I found some really small beads but the number I would have to load on before starting is daunting.

The blue one just sold in my Etsy store. I only charged $25 which means I made like $2 an hour making it plus materials.
