My new favorite stitch pattern

shell-stitchThis is called crazy shell stitch and it is really pretty and has a great texture to it.  It is really easy to do since all it uses is chain, single crochet, and double crochet.  You start with a chain in a multiple of 3 plus one.  Then you single crochet in the 4th stitch from the hook and do 3 double crochets in the same stitch.  The first row will end on a single crochet then you chain 3 and turn.  Do 3 double crochets in the same stitch you chained 3 from before turning.  Single crochet in the next chain 3 space then do 3 double crochets in the same chain 3 space.  You end the row with a single crochet in the chain 3 at the end then turn and chain 3.  The rest of the rows are the same until you get to the size you want.   The sample is done in Lion Tweed Stripe “Apple Mint”.

About sysclp

I do a lot of different things. I am a horse racing photographer, I make jewelry, and I crochet. Here I will mostly concentrate on crochet. I live in Ontario, Canada, now but I am from the deep South and lived in Alabama before I moved here.
